What are you talking about MD6? It is md5(md5(password, hash)). Password and hash are in the database. Theres not much more to explain about it.

i don't do that..... mine's been hacked. trying to learn exactly how they did it so i can secure all the holes, nessus shows most holes, but not vbulletin's holes.

I'm pretty sure that you got hacked because a third party add-on... such as shoutboxes(the most vulnerable mod).
