How do you save your backups? I use a shell script to make a compressed backup of my forums' database each night, but still haven't figured out how to have it automatically transferred to my hard drive each day.. I tried a program called SyncBack but could never get it to work. Quote |

Re: How do you save your backups? My server guy has tried to get this to work as well to no avail. He tried to get it to backup and transfer to a separate box and just cant get it. so i backup about once a week and d/l it to my HDD on the ftp....it sucks but it works,... Quote |

Yeah I think my "host" (he is really just one guy) works for a very larger hosting company and he buys large shares from his own company and resells it to people like me. i have NO complaints about my host, the guy is great and really has great pricing and the servers are fast. he knows A LOT about hosting and servers and all (i dont know a whole heck of a lot) and i dont think he ever got it working...
