How to let users send gifts? Big gifts? Maybe with a sound effect?


I've heard there were a few mods that allowed users to send gifts to each other (like vbPlaza I think), usually based on the points they earned or the number of posts they made. From what I've seen all these gifts tend to be small images. Are there any such mods that can be made to allow large images with an accompanying sound effect? Shown overlaid on any page the user happens to be visiting when they get it? Such a mod would really go over big on my forum...

i think you would have to buy vbplaza and test and see what you can do as far as customization. anything is possible i suppose, but you may need to hire a coder.

That's kinda what I figured, but I wanted to check in case I missed something first... maybe somebody knew more about the various gift giving mods then I do

I've never looked into these 'gift giving' mods.

I have no idea... I've heard very mixed reviews on vbPlaza. Some people say it's buggy and full of security holes, others love it. I think my members would take to the idea of sending each other gifts, but I don't want to do little icons... I want something colorful and bold.

just heard there was a new gifts/drinks mod out (used to be a paid mod, now it's free), but it doesn't sound very good... it won't work on sites using a table prefix for vB. WTF?
