I own a photography forum in which I feel it is very important for everyone to use their real first and last names, separated by a space, as their username.

Even though it is written several times, even in red type, in the registration process, I still get a lot of people that just don't bother reading anything at all during the registration process and have silly usernames.

How can I make it so that during the registration process, the user MUST put their first name and last name in and that will become their username automatically?

Any help is mucho appreciated!!!

AdminCP - User Profile Fields - User Profile Field Manager - Choose to edit the user field first/last name - scroll down to Field Required and choose yes - click save.

For making the value from First/Last/Full Name field default user name, you would have to get custom hack developed.

If I were you, I wouldn't make it compulsory, few people don't like to share their personal info online plus there can be multiple people with same name! The more restrictions you place on your forum, more you will turn people off!

But I do not have a user field first/last name in the User Profile Field Manager. Here is what is there...

Nevermind my last post, I see now where I can add a new User Profile Field.
