How to send happy birthday emails

How to send happy birthday emails

I have seen that quiet a few vBulletin forums send out emails to registered members on their birthdays, is there a hack to do this or is it an inbuilt setting?

In case its an inbuilt setting, how do I activate it and change the default message?

I guess it's a built in setting from this thread

because I don't remember adding a birthday hack. ?
I'd look in the vb options and the phrases to edit it.

I believe it is automatic, but I think it's nicer when sites take the time to customise the birthday message. Daniweb do a nice one.

Yep it's an automatic thing and of course the member needs to enter their birthday to actually get one.

Languages & Phrases >>> Search in Phrases >>> 'Birthday'. Should be the first option, $vbphrase[birthday]. Edit it to be what you like. It might sound cheesy, but mine is:

Happy birthday to YOU!
Happy birthday to YOU!
Happy birthday, Dear $username,
Happy Birthday to YOU!!11eleven

Had three replies to that message from people saying thanks. Never had that for the vanilla message. It's worth editing the phrase.
