Clicked on a MySQL database file, set priviledges to allow all {I think} then the thing? in the second box disappeared, so I added a new user. And I also cancelled anon Ftp axx, how do I undo it all ? Iv'e had no site for over a week now :/

To a nOOb akka ME, whats a MySql and phpMyAdmin and even tables, for anyway ? All the reading up Iv'e done, I'm still none the wiser.

All my hosts can offer me is a future backup, not the one Iv'e just messed up.

first backups are taken once every x time, depend on your host. So it is not just a copy from x seconds back.

Mysql is one of the database languages. You can imagine it like a very big Excel with many more features but basics are there. Tables are like vaults with space to store data, organised

PhpMyAdmin is just a front end to MySql enabling you to work on those databases.

A database is created by giving it a name, you have an empty vault. Then you create tables (shelves if you want with several levels to put things). Those tables have names and options to tell what they can store like numbers, names, dates etc etc etc.

Then you create a user that has access to this database and what privileges he has, read write, dump etc etc. In most cases you give all to make it easy.

If ou deleted user you'll have to create a new one and then link it to the database. But depending what control panel you have this will be different. Guess Mike is more exert from this level on

Can you take some screen shots ?
It sounds like you just need to rejoin the user and DB, but it's hard to say as there are so many control panels.
