I know that there's a mod/hack out there for when inactive users are X amount of days without visiting/posting that they'll get an "I miss you" type of e-mail. But, many folks have been reporting issues with the hack and I don't think it's as effective, IMO.

But, I feel that it's been more effective to get in touch with my inactive members by sending them a private message (since it prompts an e-mail anyways).

Is there a hack (I've been searching, but haven't found) where an auto-PM goes out to the inactive members? If not, would it be a difficult thing to do?

Personally I find it annoying, I would rather send out monthly newsletter with something worthwhile mentioned in it to entice the member to log back in and more importantly, contribute.

Brandon, I know that there's an updated version for 3.7, but it doesn't seem to be working consistently based on feedback/posts on the thread.

I was thinking of installing this version that you linked to, but someone had reported about issues with an e-mail report of some sort. Any idea about what they're talking about? Does it work well with no issues?

For me, I had to use the older version, also listed on .org. The older one has been perfect for me (3.7)

I still think the ability to do this via pm might be better. Most users have pm notifications turned on. Sending it via pm seems less invasive, even if they still get an email notification.
