Question Looking for a Photo Gallery

Does anyone know of a photo gallery that is fairly EASY to install? I am looking for something that is free (preferably) and integrates well with vBulletin 3.6.8. I have been searching for a while and found nothing.........

Re: Looking for a Photo Gallery

Hey there Tom,

I asked the same question earlier and was informed that the new version of vBulletin (3.7.0) comes 'standard' with it's own built in gallery feature (called albums or something).

Here's the other thread for the info....Click Here

Re: Looking for a Photo Gallery

David (or anyone else that knows), what is 3.7 lacking versus Photoplog? The ability to move pictures around and what else?

I'm just wondering if it's worth putting a mod in versus something that comes 'standard' with vBulletin. But, if you get more features with Photoplog, then it's almost a no brainer. Is Photoplog easy to install and customize? Will it cause issues with 3.7.0 if/when I upgrade to it?

Re: Looking for a Photo Gallery

3.7 RC3 has a member album feature, but not a gallery...this is very dissapointing. One would think in 2008 a gallery would be a standard feature on vBulletin...IMO

Once I update to gold this week, I will be adding one of the free external gallery options mentioned above.

Drawbacks:

1. Users have to go inot the member profile to see photos.
2. There is nothing in the members list that identifies a user as having an album.
3. There are no options to view all albums in one link.
4. I have had issues inserting photos from my album back into new posts, so have gone back to linking to photobucket....

That said, it is nice to be able to host photos without an additional software download, but that's about all you get.

Here is mine:

Black Vert Mafia - madmax1228's Album: MadMax GT500 Vert

Re: Looking for a Photo Gallery

Hmmm....so now I'm debating whether to wait for 3.7.0 to be good to go and then upgrade, then add that "All Albums" hack.....OR....I can go with PhotoPlog lite (is it worth to go Pro?) and add it now.

Anyone have suggestions based on these two options? (Or, another option?)

Re: Looking for a Photo Gallery

Wow, that is probably enough for what I'm looking to do. Hmm...looks like I'm leaning towards the 3.7.0 albums option.

If I've done basic hacks (about 15 of them, probably) should I be okay to upgrade to 3.7.0? Or, do I have to make sure that the hacks have 'updated' versions before upgrading? I've never upgraded before and need some guidance.
