Moving posts from one thread into a different thread.

How do I move – for example: one or two posts that have appeared in a thread but are “Off Topic” in that thread? I don’t want to delete them completely, as although they are OT (and not done intentionally by the poster) they are interesting in their own right, but don’t belong in that particular thread.

I DO want to delete them from the original thread and start them in a new thread in a different section; but I can’t do this by cut and past as each post will indicate me as the author!

Is there a way please?

Errrrmmm!....am i becoming a nuisance?

Lampwick.

Re: Moving posts from one thread into a different thread.

In showthread, check the posts and then at the bottom select "Moderation" "move". It will let you create a new title for the new thread you move the posts to.

Ah, yes!!!.....But what I want to be able to do is move 3 posts from one existing thread, to another existing thread. I don’t want to have to create a new thread.

What happens; is that the moved posts appear at the start of the existing thread and make a mess of the whole thread.

Is there a way a moved post/s can appear as the next post in that thread as a natural post would?

instead of move, pick merge....

post will be inserted in chronological order. theres no real way to avoid that unless you are a super fabulous magical coder....
