Must have forum sections for a forum?

So far I have:

Announcements
Site feedback

Anything else I'm missing?

Yep those are the main ones.

I make the announcement section and the feedback section the same. No reason to have 2 separate forums for them. If it's and important announcement, just make a global one.

I would also put your introductions forum up top and all the others at the bottom of the forum, including the off-topic area. You want people to fell welcome when they see your forum and the first thing they see is the welcome section.

Then they can read your forum's topics then get to those other forums, ie off topic and feedback.

Are you building a niche forum Luigi ? If so, You'll want to have some news forums about the product as well. Like how we have a hacks forum(s) and styles forum.

Re: Must have forum sections for a forum?

James, I was thinking about an introduction section, but it seems so silly since most members never respond to it from what I've seen. Staff is usually stuck with saying the same thing over and over again. But I do see it's function, I just don't necessary like it.
