| Re: Questions about VB Geek Gazzette If you subscribe to the newsletter, it will be emailed in html.
It will pretty much look just like it does on the newletter.php page.

My main issue is previewing what I have done before sending it out to the masses. Any help with that?
I did find out how to add people without them doing it....heh
I know it's a learning thing and I just need to take the time, but sometimes it easier to go to the pros, you guys.. he |

I thought the 'preview in HTML' would show it, apparently not. |

| Starting a newsletter Things have been kind of slow at my forum. I have almost 70 members, but only around 10 of them post. I realize that in any forums, maybe 5 to 10 percent of registration actually become posters. I've seen how various websites, vBulletin Setup & The Admin Zone, both issue regular newsletters. On a few occasions, I've actually gone back to re-visit some websites simply because I had forgotten about them, and the newsletter prompted my interest.
I'm curious, I'm not well versed with creating HTML output for email, simply mind boggling because the wide variety of email clients to mess up the format. Just curious if anyone has any suggestions for newsletter generators/coders/products that could help me out?

| Re: Starting a newsletter We're using GAZ by the vB Geek isn't selling it anymore
It's nice because it creates all the html for you, the only html I put in is the hyper links in the top section of text.
I think they are great and do suggest sending out regular emails to your members of upcoming news or announcements. Something like game cheats or new maps, w/e, would be good stuff for a news letters.. Even if you're just sending out an email in the acp, you can add hyper links or images with basic html tags.
There is a free newsletter that users have posted on vBSetup, try searching around for "newsletter" I think bdude posted a link.
cheers

| What do you use for Newsletter ? What do you use for the vBulletin Setup newsletter?
I have "Community Bulletin Email Generator version 4.5f" installed, I think I paid for it.
Is that all I need to get started and then hack away at it?
Do you use vBulletin / Commbull to actually send it?

| Re: What do you use for Newsletter ? Oh sorry. I read the thread, but still confused.
Do you use vB Geek?
The other people say Commbull is OK, should I just go with that since I already have it installed?
Also, the other question - what do you use to send it out?
Thanks,
Eric |
