I recently got an offer from a financial service company interested in advertising on my website. This was quite unexpected since my site is only 2 months old. I did not expect this and have no clue how to judge a fair price for banner space.


My website is financial based. And due to the nature of the site, I should be able to charge a sligthly higher rate. (sponsors are all brokerage firms and financial services)

My question is: how should I determine a fair price for a banner? Should I use phpadsnew for this?

Here are my site info for Sept. (basically the first real month of my site)

3471 unique visitors
617800 hits

Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you

what is their link ? and will you be getting a link from their site ?

It's hard to set the price, I suggest looking at other sites similar to yours and see what they are asking.. This will give you a better idea ;)


and I see a error in the welcome header,, when i made the alt=tag for the first register link it's spelled..Refister.. you'll want to check that.. sorry for that, I was in a hurry when I made it

I dont quite see the error. Can you double check this?

Also I will not be getting any link placed on their site. They want to place a banner on my website. I tried contacting several financial forums weeks ago and nobody seems to disclose their information without the proper documents. One reply I received was $300 per banner. And the site literally sucks.

if someone offered me 300 a month to place a banner up, I'd take it for a month or two

and look at the welcome header,, in one of the "register" links, mouse over it and you'll see I misspelled "Refister" :p

btw, this is a company that I'm testing out.. It's something my teacher told me about..

they will also give you links back, he said he had a pr8 on a site after two years of using this company.. not to mention the money he made
