I haven't thought this one completely through, but I think as part of my forum site, I want to create a small online magazine, sort of like what they did here at this site: Reef Central Online Community

Not a bad way to get visitors coming to your site I'm thinking, along with giving a site more features then the competitors. What software do you recommend to create such a magazine and database? Or does this require a professional programming coding? Again I haven't thought it all through, but like the idea.

Very good. This ijoomla magazine is pretty much what I was looking for. Going through the article videos it seems the admin panel and interface is setup for a novice just like me. It's a bit expensive though, and I will have to also buy a template for it (more nickle and diming), but it's exactly what I think I need. I even might use this as the portal home page, but then again I don't want my site to be too commercial looking.

Anyone use this joomla thing or have any comments?
