Re: PhotoPlog or PhotoPost vBGallery or .. ?

lol..
I think he means that wasn't one of the options in his OP.

Do you have a pic James ? I think I remember what noppids gallery looks like, but I'm not sure.. Isn't it more of a vbgarage ?

Re: PhotoPlog or PhotoPost vBGallery or .. ?

Here is my gallery: http://www.demolitionforum.com/vbpicgallery.php

There are different ways to set it up, but I like it this way, I also have a mod that randomly shows gallery pictures on the forum home.

I'm just messing, I thought it would be funny since everyone is always like Thanks so much! on forums.

I took a look, I guess my one reservation is that it doesn't look like there's much active development, maybe I'm wrong there. Anyway, if you take a look at PhotoPlog here vBulletin Setup Forums - Gallery what's your impression.. do you think you still pick vBPicGallery if you were starting a new one now?

Thanks,
Eric

Re: PhotoPlog or PhotoPost vBGallery or .. ?

vBPicGallery is mine and the project is very active and support is given in a very timely manner for my customers usually free.

If a bug is reported, it is fixed post haste. However, if no bugs are reported, what should I fix?

Well, that was a rhetorical question.

In fact, I just optimized several files and fixed a few things that bothered me and implemented some suggestions. I just have not posted new code because these are enhancements, not "fixes".

I don't post a new zip for every little enhancement. It creates chaos. I will post new code as soon as I feel it works properly.

We don't use our customers as beta testers. We release working code.

Check out the forum more closely. You will see that I treat my customers well and go above an beyond support in every case.

I can't be everything to everyone, but I am on top of what I do and my stuff works. PERIOD.

However, you will also see that I know we are not photo post and have suggested photopost for those that need more than we offer.

Yes, it was vBGarage at one time. However, that was 300 lines of insecure code in one file. I took the idea, with the authors permission, and expanded it. It's dozens of files and utilities now and thousands of lines of code. If anyone resents that I charge $25 to maintain it, they have the 300 lines of code in one file option to install. No skin off my back. But I can't create quality for free or support hundreds of people for free.

OK you have my business! Thanks all.

Hey and just want to apologize if any offense taken at my churlish, joking answer earlier - it was James who led me to this!

I found photo post to be pretty nice, however I like photo plog much better from the forums that have it installed. I haven't checked out vBPicGallery but it looks very interesting.

Photoplog for sure... they have way better support than the others that actually have... none.

Nice features and gets updated fairly.

Re: PhotoPlog or PhotoPost vBGallery or .. ?

Is there any photo gallery script out there which either fetches the already uploaded photos in vBulletin attachments and adds them to the photo gallery or tightly integrates with the attachment system to ensure photos that are uploaded in the future are sent to user gallery?

Also do any of these galleries save user the trouble of going to the gallery section and uploading pictures by providing a dedicated upload option in new thread/post section?
