Programming Problem

I have been attempting to establish a sitemap on my My Camping Mall site but can not upload the sitemap in .xml as Google requires. My site host does not permit uploading .xml but does allow cut and pasting of .html. I have done that but Google will not recognize that. Any ideas?

Re: Programming Problem

You can make a .txt file with a list of all URL's. Like:

Code:
http://yoursite.com/
http://yoursite.com/forum/
http://yoursite.com/feedback.php

Re: Programming Problem

VBSEO Sitemap compresses the sitemap.xml file using .gz compression. Both google and yahoo accept the sitemap.xml.gz file.

Could you compress the sitemap into a .gz file with a utility and upload it?

Re: Programming Problem

I have tried everything that I could think of and it boils down to my host will only accept cut and paste .html; Google will only detect .xml, so I have not been able to move beyond that point. Can Google be tricked into thinking its .xml when its really .html. I have spoken to my host company and they know of nothing that they can do to change how its put on my site.

Re: Programming Problem

So they cannot even accept .txt files? Only .html files in their online editor? I don't want to sound mean, but please change your host. There are many good free ones such as JotHost (I'm an Admin there) or Kwix.
