Cindyl10 has a spectacular aura about
pulling my hair out again over vBa CMPS

I've been trying to change how my home page looks. I really like how the News Archive module looks and I don't like the way the News one looks. So I thought if I copied the archive module I could use that instead for my News. So I copied the module, activated it and set it up on the page where I wanted it, removing the original News module. I thought that was all I had to do, but it won't show up on my page! I tried everything I could think of and still nothing shows up. I also renamed the original news archive module, "News" and the original News module I renamed "More News". I named my copy of the archive news, "News 2". I wouldn't think that would change anything though would it? I finally gave up and put everything back the way it was to start with, just leaving the new names on the the modules.

Does anyone have any idea of what I did wrong or a step I left out or why it wouldn't work?

The more I think about it I'm not sure that what I did was really the best way to handle it anyway. I'd like to be able to use the format of the way the news archive looks, but I'd also like to be able to choose the forums it pulls the news from... maybe I'm wishing for too much....

It would probably help a lot if I had a clue what I was doing too...

Thank you so much! I hope I explained it clearly...basically I just wanted to have a mod that looked like the one for archived news posts but that would be for all the current news posts...

Is it on a page which isn't enabled, or have you accidentally left it off the page? It is easy to make such mistakes :/

I'd just triple check all settings, and usually the problem is staring me in the face, I then swear a bit and fix it all

No, the page was enabled (I only have the one) and it was on there, it just didn't show up for some reason. (It's not on there now as I put everything back the way it was)

I think the news module is linked up to a corresponding php page on your server, if this is the caes you will have to take a look at that file, probably duplicate it and change the namings on it....still have nt had a chance to look yet.
