Question on creating new group

How can I create a new users group say for instance newbies, make new users automatically assigned to that group. Also how can I say for instance moderate their first 5 posts, promote them to members after a certain amount of posts with out me having to manually promote them? Thanks

Re: Question on creating new group

It can be done, I don't know how off the top of me head though. I have some homework to do right now and a little house work after that.. If no one answered by later on tonight, I'll look it up

Easy. Go into your AdminCP>UserGroups>UserGroupManager

Edit Group2 which I think is called Registered. (changed mine a long time ago. )

Change under Post/Forum Permission the follow Moderation Rules to NO.

Save and then under AdminCP>UserGroups>Create New Usergroup

COPY the Registered Group (this is the first option) and Save.

Then Edit this new UserGroup.
Change the name/description and moderation rules for this group.

You might increase PM's etc too if you like.

Save.

Then go to AdminCP>UserGroups>Promotions

Just fill in the blanks. Pretty self explanatory. The first blank is the OLD group, ie Registered. For promotion strategy use Posts and Promotion Type should be Primary Usergroup. Select your NEW Usergroup as the Move to UserGroup.

I hope that the instructions were understandable and not too much. Not sure how much you already know, so just explained it all.

G.
