Re: News posts

Hey BRANDON (or anyone who knows) - What's the modification that posts articles by the "News" user? It's no doubt posting info from RSS feeds? Can you link to the modification on vB.org please? I would love to have an automated posting of poetry/writing related news on my own Forum = Thanx ;)

Check out the ADminCP where it says RSS feeds.

Though i can tell you im about 99% Brandon is adding his by hand cause they are full lengths and not many RSS feeds give out all their content

Re: News posts

Are you talking about the post in the vb.com forum ?
Those are manually added, vbmodder.com use to have an rss poster that would post the whole feed.

Re: News posts

No - actually I'm referring to the Articles section like THIS POST - posted by "News" --- Is that some sort of RSS feed or are you simply posting those articles manually? It would be AWESOME to have such an automated process to post whole articles like that.

Thanx!

Jacquii.

Re: News posts

Oh, yes I'm posting them manually and GAR's allows you to set any author, so I've always just used the news user.

You might check out vBulletin Modder for his article bot, it's a bit more advanced then the stock vb rss reader

Re: News posts

Ah - It's probably best to post manually so that the entire article is on my own site - instead of having users HAVING to click out to view the entire article... Anyway - Thanx YAWL for the info and suggestions ;)
