Recommended vBAdvanced modules

I am trying to get a list of some modules to be installed on one of my clients site.

Can you please let me know which vBAdvanced modules/products are the most common ones and if you can possibly provide any links to it. Are they something you use a lot.

I checked vBA's site and most of the modules there seem not to get updated a lot, and there's little activity.

I haven't checked vb.org there, as the dedicated vBA forum is not longer there (on vb.org).

I assume, the latest videos, latest pictures etc, are obvious choices, but I hope to see some more input here.

Thanks,
Val.

Re: Recommended vBAdvanced modules

You can go to vBadvanced Forums - Powered by vBulletin and check out the support forums there.

Do you mean in addition to the default modules?

Of the default ones, one of the most commonly used ones is the 'news' module where it pulls from a particular forum and posts on the front page. Also, the 'recent threads' is used quite a lot.

I think that the 'replacement' for the 'recent threads' module is the tabs content script which is kinda nice. AJAX Tabs Content Script v2.0 enhanced - vBadvanced Forums

Good luck with your client!

Re: Recommended vBAdvanced modules

To be honest, there's not a great amount of 'ready to go' modules available. Think outside the box and encorporate it into a module, think of it as a mini webpage.

The RSS module is good, you can pull in any data from an external source.

If you have the Realtime Posts hack installed, you can make that show in a module, looks good scrolling down the screen.

I did use the tabs for a while but reverted back to normal recent threads.

If you have the 'Popular tags on forumhome' hack installed, you can create a module to display them on the index page too, good for seo.

i also encourage whatever secure invite a friend hack, weather.com box hack is nice, if you want to spend a few beans on joomlaworks frontpage slideshow it looks good in a module and integrates nicely with the forum.
