Redirect Member to Forum Instead of New Post

, it is me, OS Master. The reason I haven't been as active here is becuase I've been working a lot with my own vB forum and a couple others. However, I have a problem:

This is default vB behavior. When someone makes a new thread or new post, vB usually redirects them to the new thread/post they just made. This function is fine and dandy, however this inflates the view count by 1. And at the early stage my forum is at, even a view count off by 1 makes a difference.

What I want is for someone to be redirected to the forum of the new thread/post they just submitted. Like in this instance, I would be redirected to vBulletin Questions when I submitted this thread rather than my new thread.

Can anyone help me?

Hope you don’t mind me asking this, but why is that view count so important to you? Frankly when I post a topic, I like to see that what I had posted has turned out right and usually like to reread it to check for any spelling mistakes.

This is some thing that annoys me about SMF.

PS. If any one knows how to stop this from happening in SMF, please do let me know.

Well I use view counts to see if people are reading important threads. I know it can be artificially by spiders and guests, however it is more of a personal issue than a productive one.

Yeah, SMF does this; or is there a way that when I view the thread/reply it doesn't add to the count.

I guess redirect thing can be easily implemented; you would have to look at newthread/newpost template and change the redirect value.

OK, I'll look around the Web some more for some suggestions.

I'll keep you posted.
