Re: Remove description from sub-forum

I would remove the description field from this template: forumhome_forumbit_level1_post

Be sure to back up the template though.

Re: Remove description from sub-forum

Whitemike - Didn't work quite right but it's my fault not yours... I didn't realize so didn't mention that it was actually a sub forum of a sub forum. So your way takes away the information from the first sub forum also.

Forum Setup

Main Forum
--- Sub Forum 1 - Needs Description
------- Sub Forum 2 - Does Not Need Description

Can this be done or would it be easier to hire someone to make a mod like the Title Mod but for descriptions?

Re: Remove description from sub-forum

It really does not require a mod, just need to remove it from a template. You can shoot me a PM and I will see what I can do for you.

Re: Remove description from sub-forum

I did that as well, but that removes it on the forumhome as well, so I added && THIS_SCRIPT != 'forumdisplay' to the if's. But then that removes the main category information on the level1 page.

Re: Remove description from sub-forum

I guess I was confused... Assuming I understand you right and you mean

the third forum on there... and are talking about the text displayed

under the blue 'Main Forum'.... the template is forumhome_forumbit_level1_post

Find

<if condition="$show['forumdescription']"><div class="smallfont">$forum[description]</div></if>

and remove it
