Yes I use the rep system, yes you can neg rep and yes I allow members to see who rep'd them in their usercp. I think if members see that others are adding them rep because they've helped out, they might help out more because they know their past help was appreciated...something like that lol.
I also have the post thank you hack installed. Contributor RMD Owner vBulletin Owner Re: To rep, or not to rep. I don't set "thanks" to give rep, that way IMO rep would get crazy. Rep is a little harder to get as it is you have to "click, type, click" and I like seeing the messages on the reps, i have the unread post and rep comments hack installed by Paul M and it is nice to login and see you got a new rep and someone took the time to thank you more personally. I have anonymous rep on and it gets used once and a while by some members. I don't have the thanks hack or anything like that. I also allow them to see who repped themt. Some members like the rep system and it gives them an incentive to make quality posts. | | | Join Date: Aug 2008 | Posts: 39 | Location: Wales, UK | | Cars and stufffff | Re: To rep, or not to rep. Yes, yes and yes. Considering my forum is purely international friendship based I think the rep system is a good idea and it works well. I don't think anyone has ever used it though.
