Reply To Thread Ad?

Does anyone know if it's possible to place an add in the "Reply To Thread" email that is sent out to users when a reply has been posted on a thread they are subscribed to?

This seems like the kind of place where I could add a single banner and do very well with. I wanted to see if there was any coding issues that would need to be worked out.

Good idea. I'd be interested to know about this as well.

If I understand you correctly, then the default text for that is within vB phrases.

Here is the phrase: $vbphrase[notify]

hmmm...By doing this if you have alot of members..Wouldnt this in turn be considered spam? I mean I would check with host first..You dont want to get in trouble...Alot of hosts have different deffinition of what they allow..

I dont' think it's a problem. I can't imagine how tossing a banner on this page would hurt anyone or make my users unhappy in any way. It would need to be tested. I think it's just as dangerous to limit possible monitization as it is to go overboard with it.

If they have already subscribed to a thread and WANT to get notifications of updated threads, I can't see how this would be considered spam. I received an email for this thread. I would have absolutely ZERO problem if there was a banner describing a premium product/plugin for vbulletin. In fact, it would be nice if I was made aware of products that would make my life easier or my forum more successful.

I'm on a dedicated server now so I basically am the host.

It also needs to be said that I DEFINITELY have ads in my newsletters and my unsubscribe rate is very very small. I think my users want to see ads. The want to know when there is a big sale on X products and such.
