RSS Feeds on vbulletin

I am trying to set up feeds on vb 3.6.8 ..

I have tried to pull in google but it adds an image tag to the post.
Code:
<img alt="" height="1" width="1">
because it has
Code:
&lt;img alt=&quot;&quot; height=&quot;1&quot; width=&quot;1&quot;&gt;
all through out its feed ...

When I use xxxx://rss.news.yahoo.com/rss/sports I dont get any errors. When I use something like this xxxx://news.search.yahoo.com/news/rss?p=football+OR+colts+OR+manning&ei=UTF-8&fl=0&x=wrt I get the error >

XML Error: not well-formed (invalid token) at Line 9

Would love to feed teh most applicable data instead of having to weed through it before feeding it. Is the RSS Feed feature really this limited?

Re: RSS Feeds on vbulletin

I do not understand what you are trying to do? If you would explain it better I would be happy to help.

I mean are you trying to pull it in a little box? using a widget? What?

I was not liking none of the RSS feeders and all, so I just added my own using a script i found. You can check mine out. I only use it to pull in my blog in a certain forum. But it has options of what you pull in with it. I am using ticker style

Argue Crazy Blog

Check that out. But since vbulletin is so flexible I mena you can use anything to pull in rss feeds. But if you let me know little more be happier to help you. I do not understand why you are trying to filter stuff. Or do you mean your using it to post to your forums?

Re: RSS Feeds on vbulletin

I added a google rss feed to VB

"base jumping" - Google News

Then I have the body template as:

Code:
{feed:title}

{feed:description}

More...
Then I get this for the feed coming back:

Quote:

I would like to get my feeds like Yahoo displays which is:

Here is the new body template I used:

Code:
{feed:title}

{feed:description}

Now i had an issue in my forum that did not set html allowed. But when I enabled that, the html is displayed, but not the way I think it should. Here is my rss posting:
http://blincmagazine.com/forum/news-...html#post69268

here is the actual rss from google:

http://news.google.com/news?hl=en&q=...r=1&output=rss

So mine does not have the image nor does the link point to the correct place as in the feed..

Hmm I see what your saying now its not picking up everything. Maybe its some vbulletin bug. You could always install some mod to do this. I know I seen a couple on vb.org

Re: RSS Feeds on vbulletin

So I remove "allow BB code", and "Allow [img] code" and now the article prints like it should, but I am now worried about all the rest of my rss feeds by removing this.
