Scheduled Task?

Is there a scheduled task, that I can add that will update the user titles and ranks for a specific usergroup every 30 minutes or so?

Thanks!

Re: Scheduled Task?

there is nothing automatic, you will have to be very specific in what you need, with the structure of the user title etc... usually, they get changed when people move from a usergroup to another via the promotions...

Re: Scheduled Task?

That's the issue i'm facing, for some reason the user has been promoted yet the rank image and user title doesn't appear.

Maximum Jackson - Discussion Board

This user has been "promoted" to the new usergroup for several hours no and the rank image and user title still doesn't appear.

Re: Scheduled Task?

As soon as I mention i'm using a modification regardless of whether that is the problem or not, they won't help me.

For my original question, is it possible to do this? Add a scheduled task that will update/rebuild the user titles and ranks periodically?

Re: Scheduled Task?

the hourly tasks is already doing it... that's why i think you have something blocking the process someway...

Re: Scheduled Task?

What is the title of the process that should do this? User Promotions?

I've done some research, if I change a user myself to this usergroup - all is okay. Rank image and user title show etc.

It seems the problem only arises when the process - "User Promotions" promotes the user, it doesn't update the user title or user rank.

Re: Scheduled Task?

the Users Promotion cronjob is actually doing it, yes.

how your usergroups are set? if you only apply your new usergroups as secondary usergroups, they will not change any user title ... the usertitle is changed only when the promotion is related to a primary usergroup. same for any permissions... you can not block a feature after giving the access to it from a primary group.

Re: Scheduled Task?

The modification is set to "promote" the usergroup to "MaxDonator" (the usergroup in question)

Looking at the two users I have in the acp that still have no rank image or title, their primary usergroup is "MaxDonator", they don't have a secondary usergroup set.

Man, what a head ache this is.

Re: Scheduled Task?

did you move them yourself to that usergroup?... the promotion works only on automatic, and will not update their usertitle otherway... and for the rank, the it is not a promotion on its own...

Re: Scheduled Task?

No luck at all - thanks though

After donating, before updating user titles and ranks manually via acp

After updating user titles and ranks manually via acp

As you can see, the difference after updating user titles and ranks is -

1. The rank image is shown, showing "MaxJax Donator"
2. The user title "Royalty" is updated.

I think i'm going to give up and just do it the hard way, this is such a nightmare.

If anyone has any more ideas, please let me know.

Re: Scheduled Task?

in

acp>paid subscriptions>subscription manager click edit for that subscription type

on the right for usergroups, do you have the new "primary" usergroup set in the top dropdown AND your standard members group clicked on the radio button under "secondary usergroup"

?

idk if that will help, but that is how mine is.
