| Secluding a template from the rest of the site... ...yeah, I know, lemme explain.
Quite a few of my members want to get a Gaming Clan started. The staff supports this but we are trying to figure out the best way to give them their own section within the site. I'd like for them, the Gamers, to have a different section they can go to were they can view tournament results, scores, etc...and that section would have a different look once accessed.
So, basically, I want my site to have two templates: The template for the forum and all other uses of the site...then a template for the gaming clan and all their "stuff".
No, I'm not asking about installing a second template and making it available for members to pick which one they want to use.
I want for them to click (for example) on a link that says "Clan Name"...once entered, the template in view would be automatically changed, a small small forum would be there just for them and some additional stuff we may want to add.
So, yes, it would be kinda like two sites within one. I may even give it it's own domain name but that's not important right now. Something tells me it may be impossible to do w/o a subdomain. But, if that's the case and a subdomain needs to be created...would I have to purchase vBulletin all over again since it would be on my same aco****, same host etc.
I hope I'm not too confusing with this...I'll stop, any ideas or suggestions please don't hold back. Thanks in advance. |
