Show A Worldwide Map of Forum Partipants

My brother and I have been developing a free service for mapping users.

This html snippet can be placed in your layout or footer to start tracking and generate a map of forum participants --

Then just click on the button to see the map of users. For instance, go down on the right side of New Eastside Blog just below the weather and click on the red MapVisitors button, when you drill down you can see there are a lot of visitors from the Chicago region, as would be expected for a site with a neighborhood focus!

We are pretty proud of it so far, let us know what you think and tell your friends

I think I've seen this on a site b4, was AdminFusion.com using this at one point ?
Looks interested, I might give it a shot. Id have to make a better button tho..lol

Jon just finally got all set up again with a new Core 2 Duo laptop and he is no longer living with his girlfriend in my parents basement, he has a house!

is it better just get from google API code? iam not familiar with this but will give it a try out when my sites are actively with registered members.

You would think so but a site like my wifes, which is pretty local, gets hits froun around the globe.

i have a few members from like england that moved from delaware, or are moving to delaware. Also a few from like PA, NJ, MD, VA, and 1 from California...lol

That would make an interesting map :-) We should also let you choose date ranges eventually, so you could compare your traffic map from an arbitrary period in the past.

You'd probably be surprised, check out my Local Chicago site

New Eastside Blog <- click on MapVisitors button on lower right
and
New Eastside Community <- click on button on lower left

I've done a lot of local promotion so if you zoom into Chicago you can see a lot of visitors in the local area, but on the other hand there are still pushpins around the world for both sections.
