When a user signs up (registers) for my site, how hard is it to add another REQUIRED field?

For example, on WVU Talk I want to add a field for graduation year so the user can input the year he/she will/already has graduated and make it required.

in acp look for

User Profile Field > Add New User Profile Field >
then you can use a few things, you may just play around, but I'd use
Single-Line Text Box
and fill it out how u want. I belive it's descrition, but put your dates like
1980
1981
1982 etc...
they are pretty easy to add ust play around, or let us know and I'll try and explain more.
