I'm trying to do this myself. It's becoming incredible frustrating.

I followed the VB manual... I got the smilies on my computer...I'm trying to upload them...

My other smilies (Dave added them for me) are in the images/smilies file path.

So that's where I tried to upload the new ones to.... but I'm getting an "invalid file path" message. How can it be invalid if that's where the others are?

Like I said - I'm a real NOOB. Am I going to have to get Dave to do this for me, too, or might I actually learn to do something myself for once??

Are you sure you have the path spelled correctly? Did you upload a whole folder into the smilies section or just the smilies themselves?

Just double checked the path spelling... looks okay.

I was testing with just one smilie...

I guess I have to harass Dave again, eh?

have you made sure in your FTP that you have permissions to write to your smilie directory

I truly wish I could say I know how to do that...

that program you used to upload the vbulletin files to your server, that is a FTP

connect to your server with it and find your smilies folder

right-click and hit "permissions" or "CHMOD" and set them to 777
