Social aspects of 3.7 worthless?


I have 3.7.2 running on two boards and I feel like the social aspects are fluff so far. They are just ok. Does anyone have luck with these new features or feel like they improve your "community"?

I have started a couple of Social Groups... People join. Now what?

Photo Album is clumsy IMHO

Writing on members "walls" is cool I guess.

I'm just not really impressed so far.

I like the profile comments the best honestly, the other stuff is fun and I agree the albums need some work still, but I'm sure it'll get better.

I'd have to agree...not a lot to do. Has anyone found any really good interactive ways of using the social 'area' of the new software?

What I would like is something like del.icio.us does where members could "bookmark" their fav sites in the ir profiles.

I haven't installed said mod yet, but it sounds useful. Maybe it will encourage the social groups to talk amongst themselves.

I agree, and like you and Brandon, the profile comments are the kewlest

and yeah, "social forums" is a mod, it is ok i guess but i think it would detract from the forum....

I haven't yet switched my forum to 3.7x yet, however in the forums I participate where it has been implimented, I haven't done any serious use of it.
