Turning Directories Into Forums?

Hi guys, i'm not sure how to word this correctly so I'll just do the best I can and hopefully it makes sense. If not then I'll try to do my best to explain again.

Basically, I want my site (JibbaJabbas.com) to be my main page which links off to different forums on my host. So say you go on jibbajabbas.com and click on music, it would take you to http:// music.jibbajabbas.com, where it would be a whole forum dedicated to music. Or if you clicked sport it would take you to http:// sport.jibbajabbas.com etc.

A very important thing is when you sign up to just one of the forums, then you have access to them all.

So if anyone knows how I can go about doing this, that would be great! Thanks!

p.s sorry if the topic title is complete wrong

It wouldn't be a problem at all, altho you'll need a license for each subdomain.

Wouldn't really make sense to run multiple instances of forum catering different niches.

Re: Turning Directories Into Forums?

Originally, I just wanted a forum with multiple sections for different categories. But it hasn't worked out as it seems people just want to join a forum for a specific niche. So I ideally wanted to have multiple forums so people could just post on the one they wanted. But I think I'll give it a miss if I need to buy a license per sub-domain (which is a joke in itself).

Is there any other way I can go about this without having to buy more licenses or breaking the T&C?

Care to point me in the right direction? Shouting "free forum script!" at me isn't going to do me much good. But thanks.

Well I've already bought the VB license now so I really would just like to use that (plus it's the best forum software). Thanks for the tips though, but if anyone else has any ideas or suggestions then that would be great. Thanks.
