Updating Ranks and/or Titles...

So, I'm changing up the User Ranks/Titles some and I thought it would be more in keeping with PC101 if the member's ranks were something like...

Freshman
Sophomore
Junior
Senior

and so on... so I change them... and then went to the User Title Manager area and "Update User Titles and Ranks" but it doesn't seem to be taking. I'm still seeing the old default VB user titles. What did I miss?

I'd also appreciate some suggestions on some rank titles... ya know, something related to "eduction." Thoughts?

Naturally... I'm now the HEAD MISTRESS! lol

Thanks!

Are you sure you're using setting titles and not ranks? I once made the mistake of setting the ranks thinking they were the same thing as titles, but didn't specify the usergroup it was for, and consequently the rank only displayed correctly for the admins.

Re: Updating Ranks and/or Titles...

Hmm... looking at the admin panel, I scrolled down to the section that says USERS. The 9th item down is "User Title Manager" and when I clicked on it it should me the five titles that were currently being used. I've since changed them to...

User TItle ----------------- Minimum Posts
Freshman ---------------------------- 0
Sophomore---------------------------- 30
Junior ---------------------------------- 150
Senior ---------------------------------- 500
Professor ----------------------------- 1000

and then it says "It is recommended that you update user titles and ranks after adding, editing, and deleting user titles or ranks." Where it's underlined there's a link to another area where is says Update User Titles and Ranks. I did clicked UPDATE but these new titles still aren't showing up in the forum.

Suggestions?

Did you only click that link or did you also click the "Update User Titles and Ranks" button? What did you see next? Did you see a page that said "Updating user info" and then a bunch of lines that said Processing?

How did You Hear About PC101 ?? - PC101

except on one member... DR911.. his still shows "Senior Member" which is a default VB title.

Odd!

That is odd. Maybe you should run the update user titles thing again?
