Upgrading to latest VB version. Old mods still work?

So I have upgraded one of my forums to 3.7.2 (used to run 3.6.?)

I had several modifications on this board and I notice many of them have been updated for 3.7.2 at vb.org

However many of them still work? What is up with this? Do I need to uninstall the old version and get the 3.7.2 version.

I found most still work, and some of the updated versions use new plugin hooks instead of template edits so you end up going back and removing the template edits...

which is a pain! i have gotten kinda lazy with this and this is one of the many reasons my site is so sloppy. i have looked and looked for someone to give me a flat price to clean up and validate my site but never get anywhere it seems.

Or worse yet, if you want it displayed elsewhere or differently then the plugin hook allows you have to go into the plugin itself and monkey with it.

Most should work. I would wait until tomorrow for 3.7.3.
