Users can't post on a board unless they have XXX number of posts.

Hey,

Is their anyway to stop users from posting on a particular board if they don't have a post count of XXXX, but they can still view it.

Thanks,
Corey

I believe the cyb permissions hack will do that.. It's available at vbulletin.org

I know we've talked about it on vbsetup a few times.
Let me know if you can't find it, I'll look the link up.

cheers

Setup custom usergroup permissions and use promotions to promote users to the posting group when they reach a certain level.

If theirs another way, I would prefer not to do it that way.

I don't think there is any other way, maybe the hack Brandon was referring to would be able to do the job.

Why do you not want to do it that way? I have it set that way and it works perfectly without needing to install any modifications

I don't want to have to promote users to a new level. I want them to be registered users. And this hack seems much easier.

Just another option...

Insted of promoting the registered user you could add an "additional usergroup" after so many posts which has posting rights on the new board or hidden board etc.

I personaly use the promotion to full member group (new primary group) after so many posts. It seems to get people active as well.

If its the only thing you want to do, then i probably would suggest a single plugin. Adding an extra overload of a whole usergroup for doing just this isn't really needed ;)

A plugin(at two hooks i think) can disable the posting in those forums where you want.
