Using three copies of the Post Thanks hack?


Back when I first installed the Post Thanks hack, they also made available a Groan version that was made to be compatible with Post Thanks. I altered the Groan version until it was a Laugh, because I wanted to encourage their funny comments. Now the members want a Groan button also, but I'm worried the three buttons won't work together since apparently there was some problem getting two of them working together. Has anyone tried three variations of the Post Thanks hack at the same time?

Wow, you're going to try a triple post hack with a twist? I think that the degree of difficulty on that one is at least a 10

Seriously, I was considering using that 'groan', but I decided that I didn't need it back when I added the Post Thanks. The "Thanks" works great for us though.

The plan is to attempt the triple post hack (with a twist) after I upgrade the forum, and I warned them already it might not work...

We'll see. Honestly I'm not thrilled about the idea of the Groan button on that forum... why give members an easy way to express dissatisfaction? But we'll see how it turns out.

i have thought to myself 1000 times "man i wish i had the groan hack installed" some post can give you that UGH! feeling...lol

i've been thinking for a while about cleaning up my sites and removing some fluffy features....

I'm pleased to report the triple post hack (with a twist) mostly went ok. The only issues are that the Post Laugh hack options won't display in the admin panel (so I set them in phpmyadmin) and it caused the "remove my thanks" and "remove my laugh" links to disappear. Could be worse. Oh, and I told 'em that if they abused the groan button they just might find their face on it

i got the thanks/groan working on the sports forum just fine as well and i really like it, so do the few members i have at this opint.

Fortunately my members haven't used it all that much, I was a little worried it would cause animosity but so far everyone is restraining themselves. Of course they had to test it out on me though

lol, i had people testing on me to as seen HERE you see M.opaliski was like WOW you got booed twice!

all worth it to get things working right

after that i wisened up and made a test account...
