| vB Forum Idea Well, I tried in the past to get a tech forum started, but honestly, didn`t have time to invest in it. Now I want to start a fresh forum, just need to find an idea. I was thinking of something IT related, but seems that there are sooo many. I wanted IT since it`s my specialty. But I may be missing some other good, general ideas. Thus, I`m asking for some ideas |

| Re: vB Forum Idea You need to do some refining of the topic yourself. If you depend entirely on others to tell you what would make a great forum, you're going to be lost and your site will lose focus and direction as you get user feedback and attempt unsuccessfully to incorporate everything; ultimately leading to the downfall and failure of your forum. |

| Re: vB Forum Idea Well, not really, as I won`t go for the first idea that I hear
I still have to like it, and see potential in it, else I won`t go for it |

| Re: vB Forum Idea You said earlier in the thread you don't have the time to develop the forum you wanted to make... Why should anybody give you their idea for a forum when you've admitted it won't reach its full potential under you?
Just some thoughts... I'm through playing the pessimist. |

| Re: vB Forum Idea Note the difference : "Well, I tried in the past to get a tech forum started, but honestly, didn`t have time to invest in it. Now I want to start a fresh forum" past-present.
I have more time now, and that`s why I`m starting now a new forum
I`m just looking for ideas. |

So if you don't have the time for it... wait until you will |

| Re: vB Forum Idea Here's a list of ideas: - cPanel/WHM and Server solutions for newbies. Although cpanel.net and webhostingtalk exists, it's often hard to find info directed toward the simple things in running your own server. Not for hosting folks...but for folks who can't afford server admins...etc.
- Keeping your server secure. Just a basic forum for talk on keeping your server secure and running smoothly. Or add it to the above.
- A place for vb coders to sell their addons, etc. Include a place to request them. Be sure you ensure the security of each addon as well. No encrypted crapola! Include things that are heavily asked for on vb.com and vb.org...like a new virtual store with gifts as vbplaza had (or someone could sell their knowledge on how to fix the insecure vbplaza since many of us still have a copy). Extention products of current addons released. A place for template designers to sell their templates (I have many that I designed and haven't even marketed or sold YET). You get the idea...I would love a place like this. However, you would have to take on the responsibility of making sure all addons and such are secure. Might be time consuming. But, you'd get lots of members there. And you could take a percentage of everything sold. I see dollar signs for someone who knows their stuff with vb and could go this route.
Good luck! Letme know if you or anyone else decides to start number 3 |

Please letme know if you do create them. Especially number 3. I've expressed my opinion on that before at vb.com because thangs are so scattered it seems. |

| Re: vB Forum Idea Honestly, i`m thinking of an escrow system, but it would be very hard to implement, and legal issues would arise fast. |
