vBadvanced CMPS

I've got my forum running thanks to vB Setup. I'd like to add vBadvanced CMPS. Should I have done that first? I used public_html>>forums (directories) to upload vB and I'm wondering if I have to move anything if I use vBa?? I'm using vBa now with my other forum, but had it installed by someone else. I'd like to try it by myself for the new one.

Thanks

If your forums are located in /forums then all you'll need to do is upload the cmps_index.php file to your web root, then upload the other files/folders in the package to your forums folder.

Rename cmps_index.php to index.php and then run the install instructions.

Also, you may want to check out this article, about using both www and non-www to access your site, and why its a bad idea

Re: vBadvanced CMPS

Thanks again for the quick reply! Here's what I have in place now;
\
public_html\ (this directory already contains the index.php for my original forum)
forum (this directory contains my original forum)
forums (this directory contains my new forum Note-both forum and forums are subs of public_html)

I guess I'm wondering if I'll need to re-arrange the directory structure. I never planned on having a second forum!

Can you share the domain, i understand stuff better when i can see it

But at any rate, to have VbACMPS as your home page inside /forums rename the current index.php to something like forum.php go to vBulletin Options -> Forumhome page options (or something like that)

Upload the VBAcmps files into /forums and rename the cmps_index.php to index.php and follow install instructions.

This will leave your original forum and index.php for original forum intact

As i'm pretty sure you're running two different forums from the looks of things. Then when guests enter E-Commerce Hosting they'll be taken the the CMPS index page, and then they'll still be able to go to the forums index page as well
