| vbadvanced portal alternatives I was wondering what are the alternatives to vbadvanced? I'm really kicking myself because I know there is one called "CCMS" or something of the sort that is new and extremely nice. I've considered vbonjour but didn't like it.

| Re: vbadvanced portal alternatives Hey Brandon, speaking of alternatives... I read that you were testing VBlogetin? do you intend replacing Wordpress?
How do you like VBlogetin so far? I was considering it... but Im waiting till it gets out of Beta.
Thanks!

| Re: vbadvanced portal alternatives yup, I'm testing it on locoforum.com
actually I don't have it installed right now, I did, but I reset that board.
To answer your question about me replacing WP on vbsetup.com with vBlogetin, No I wont.
I had thought about it, but it's not going to be setup like I had thought.
I think the WP I have on our main site is doing great, it's almost getting as many referrals as the forum is as far as keyword phrases. I don't think vBlogetin would give me what I want for this site.
It's a great script, just not what I thought.
vBlogetin is using vbadvanced with the branding removing on their main site. Sorta misleading as I thought I could take vBlogetin and make the same look vBlogetin has. I think Adrian is working to get that look without vba, but as of now, it isn't setup like that.
hope my rambling makes sense

| Re: vbadvanced portal alternatives I see what you mean, the idea is great.. hopefully they'll be able to implement on this.
Im going to give WP a shot for the time being until their product meets my demands. I was also thinking about GARS..
too bad you cant test these scripts first on your own projects.
Thanks again.

| Re: vbadvanced portal alternatives I seen this ladies hack at vb.org that looks pretty sweet.
There is a thread at vbh also, let me find the link. vbArticles - vBHackers.com - vBulletin Modifications, Hacks, and Help
She has a paid version to that is nice
I also know of another one that Code Monkey is working with a guy on that looks pretty sweet, it's more of a gamer cms I've been told. My Custom CMS - vBulletin Modification Discussions
here is a demo SportsRant.com - Sports Talk With An Attitude
I know CM is busy as all hell, but I know he's very interested in it. It needs some work to be able to release it and that is what CM still has to do with it.
maybe a month or two, it'll be up ?
anyways, thats my views.
have you seen Subdreamer CMS - Build your website today! ? it's a paid hack.

| Re: vbadvanced portal alternatives I installed the articles script from Mary, the free edition in my new project. Haven't explored all yuet but it works like a charm, easy to setup.
But as front I am looking too for something for years now but never ever found it. Even asked CM once but seems to hard to do. Instead a front that we webmasters make propose a modular thing that each member can build so each can have it's own custom page with the modules he wants. Like Myfrontpage that integrates with forum
for ex you can take several module with parts of the forum you want to follow, a few modules where you could link to some external feeds... etc
make your own homepage...
if you ever cross that, let me know... I' pretty interested

| Re: vbadvanced portal alternatives eric said he tried it, and it's pretty nice .
I agree that a modular system would be better, and it seems last year I was reading at vb.og that there was a cms coming out like this.
here are 2 sites with vbulletin and subdreamer. UPSC, IAS, Indian Civil Service (Preliminary, Mains, Interview) Exam support from Serving Indian Officers. - home RTI India - Complete Right to Information Portal of India - home

| Re: vbadvanced portal alternatives The problem I have with these cms scripts is that if your not good in coding you cant really do much to organize it the way you want. Ive seen some amazing pages that are using vbadvanced but I wouldnt know where to start lol. They need to make something easy for individuals to use who are not good in coding..
