vBSEO - Is it worth it?

Hi folks,

I've been looking at vBSEO.

Is it worth it?

After paying for the initial vBulletin license, you need to spend almost the same again to get this addon.

Does it really help with search engine optimization?

What would happen to my existing pages in googles index? If someone clicked on them in a google results page, would they still be taken to the proper page, even though the page url has changed?

Would the existing pages on the forum take on the new url or just new pages?

I'm sure these questions are on everyones minds.

Just about to mosey on over to vBSEO for a browse but I know you guys are top dollar when it comes to SEO so thought I'd ask here too.

Thanks

IMO vBSEO is worth every penny.

Yes it helps search engine optimization a great deal, Your exisiting pages will all get reindexed in google, and if someone clicked the current format of (showthread.php?t=1414) they'd simply be taken to the new thread.

All pages take the new URL format immediately.

Be sure to intall their sitemap generator if you already don't have it installed.

And remember, SEO won't happen over night, and vBSEO isn't a magic pill that will instantly make your forums popular or appear in top search results. You still have to do some work, vbSEO just makes it a lot easier and quicker.

I have been heavily into SEO since I opened my forum 59 days ago. I think I have a pretty good grasp of what it's about!

I do have the sitemap generator installed, had it for some time now.

I already have 450 members, almost 6,000 threads and over 2,000 pages indexed in google so I think I'm doing ok.

But I want to do better!

Just gotta save up the $149 now.

I don't make any money from my forum, it's there purely to help people and give people a place to have a laugh. But I want it to be successful and turn into a 'big-board' some day.
