I went ahead and made everything private because I hadn't gotten any new members since I made everything public and this week already got 5 new members. What do you think?

I don't know man.. to me I think it's a bad idea to make it private..
It give the search engines less to see, hence less to index..

If your not worried about seo, I'd leave them private

Ok I am worried about seo but I must keep a few areas private. Is there a work around? I hope you have a work around or you can come up with a way to archive the private rooms and have the spiders read it but not my guess well unless they what they are doing. Sorry if what I am saying make no sense to you all.

Re: Website Optimization via Vbseo

to let spiders see something, but not guest is pointless.. they could just look up your content in search engines..

also, letting spiders see something guest can't is called "cloaking" and is frowned upon with white hat seo

if you need a few rooms private thats fine, but to have all rooms private, then you lose out on some content for bots..
