what can be done with thread prefixes?

Can anything useful be done with the new thread prefixes with mods? Can you sort by them, or maybe exclude certain usergroups from seeing threads with a particular prefix? (Could be useful if I want to keep the kids or guests away from some threads.)

I've only messed with them a few times on our forum, but I see you can select prefixes to only show up in selected forums.
I would like to see a usergroup integration though, I hope it gets developed someday.

Re: what can be done with thread prefixes?

i think the new release of vBulletin will have some more prefix options and if you run a search on vb.org i think there are a few mods that have to do with prefixes,

Re: what can be done with thread prefixes?

I use a mod from vb.org and it does give you the option to display in certain forums. But, it doesn't have a usergroup option. Although, as Chase mentioned, the 3.8 update should address that.

Just read the announcement about the new version and see they do have plans to make better use of thread prefixes . I'm not sure I'll bother implementing them until you can restrict their usage or viewing by usergroup.
