A few times in the past week, I've gone to check on my server after not receiving any new notifications from vB and found that my hosting account was full of large files named "core.12345" (where the 12345 part is a random five digit number). There's nothing in the error logs, and I never got any email about an error from vB. I erase all the core files and things are fine for a day or two, then it happens again. Any ideas what could be causing this?

How do I figure out what process is causing the core dumps? It seems to actually be increasing though I'm not getting any other error messages (emails from vB, error logs). My host is notorious for yanking sites that take up too much server resources, so I'm a little wary of bringing it to their attention

well tell you host your having a problem and have them try and help you out. im sure if your sucking their resources they would be more then glad to try and help you out.
