| What do you think of Zoints ? I may be a bit stubborn, but I haven't liked the zoints networks from day one..
but..
It's slowing etching away on me, and there is a new tagging mod that I really like.
The whole program could really help a site like ours, and with vbseo being able to put a rel=nofollow attribute on all links, I'm not worried about PR leak..
I want to ask you guys what you think of zoints ? |

Also, there is no such thing as pr leak. That's a myth that just isn't true. You don't lose pr by linking to others. You lose it by not being linked to.

I could be wrong, but I have read far more against this belief than for. |

| Re: What do you think of Zoints ? ah, well other then the zoints looking ugly, I don't think it would have a negative affect on this site..
You think zoints wont last though ? it has a pretty large following, and they are releasing hacks now..
they have made some good moves as far as marketing, seems pretty solid..
As I said, I've been very much against zoints, but if it will help this site out, I'll give it a shot.. |

If it were true, every directory listing would have pr 0. |

I could be wrong, but I have read far more against this belief than for. | This is what I've always thought its for to keep the spiders on your site to get them to gain as much pages as you can.. Quote:

One of the main reasons that I like this is because they have a "tag" system that is pretty cool.. I think vbseo will be adding it as it could help SEO, so I think I'll just wait for them |

| Re: What do you think of Zoints ? Well for shits and giggles I set my site up for this zoints thingy, But so far I'm not sure what it really does other then allow there members to view your forums, its not like there members come to your site and sign-up??
I might be way off here but since my sites not even really open just yet I thought what the hell lets see what this things got to offer.. already I can say I'm not that impressed with it, we'll see I'll let it run for a few days then go from there.. |

| Re: What do you think of Zoints ? I added something to the profiles here to help me track who are legit vb owners..
if you check your http://forum.vbulletinsetup.com/prof...do=editoptions
you'll see a field that asked "how you found our site" or something to that extent..
most users say google, or vb.org here
I've only had 15 new users sign up since I did it, but it's pretty effective.. you should add a field like this on your site,, see if they say search engines or sites
just a suggestion |

Actually, if you are thinking Zoints and worried about that I'd join NOW, not later.
I have had few join my forum (but I am not looking for random new members, so they were all invites - shocking, I know!! ) EVERY person who has joined through Zoints is either Admin or a Moderator at another forum. I bet 10-15% of the current membership are Moderators/Admin for a forum.
So, get in there NOW so you have more exposure to these people. Eventually as the membership grows less of them will be looking for this type of stuff.
I know if I was on Zoints now and saw a related tag I would have at least checked this site out.
Just my tuppence...
And here is my link if you want to look - nearly all my 'friends' are Admin/Mods. G_Man's Zoints Profile
and for the record, even though I am on Zoints, my forum is not a registered Zoints Forum. |

I have a mega packed weekend, maybe I'll integrated it on Tuesday..
I'm just so torn on it..lol |

I personally don't like Zoints. Seems like just a bunch of useless stuff. It sounded good on paper (or should say screen) but when I installed it on a forum I tech admin'd, I didn't find anything special about it. I ignored the feature altogether and later uninstalled it after a vB upgrade. Didn't see the point in adding something no one liked/used and no one has missed it. | |

| Re: What do you think of Zoints ? We tried the zoints profile hack for a few weeks but I ended up removing it because I just didn't care how it looked.
We've been using the thread tag hack but I don't require users to add tags when posting.. After we get the bugs worked out, I may start.

| Re: What do you think of Zoints ? Zoints local has not been popular on my forum at all. Myself and a few others out of 500 members actually use it. The problem is it does not have a friendly user interface I believe. Im actually considering removing it. Zoints seo is good in my opinion it seems to be doing the trick and its free lol. |
