Re: What's your security stragedy?

I always do a couple things.

I have the recaptcha for spammers and bots. It has done well so far.

Also I have changed name of panel folders and then htaccess passed them to secure them. We change the server passes and stuff every couple weeks and all passwords are generated...So no one knows them...I keep everything around my neck on usb...Without it I would be screwed LOL

Re: What's your security stragedy?

good lord that is a lot of security, good for you. one day i will do all the htaccess and renaming folders. i was talking more for protecting against spammer bots, not hackers, but that is good to know Blake

Re: What's your security stragedy?

Ive had a real simple method of keeping out the spammers by just adding a security question. A simple question like what color is the blue sky... In the past two years I rarely had any spammers. Now I even use the recaptcha aswell..

Re: What's your security stragedy?

eh i see some forums that are either broke or purposely closed to the world and are invite only, thats some security

i went to sign up on a phillies forum to "chat" the other day and the forum part was closed, no permission message on every page. i type in register.php on the back of the url and got to register, then had to wait for admin approval. talk about fort knoxs.

was there any activity on that forum, Caddy? Maybe it's been around for a while and they'd rather keep the undesirables out?
