| Re: Who do you register your domains with? I've used a lot of different ones over the years. I've found the godaddy has by far the best customer service and is the most reliable by far out of everyone else. In my opinion they are head and shoulders above any other registrar.
Anytime I have any kind of issue, I just call them up and they always sort it out in the most friendly and helpful way imaginable.
I really cant recommend godaddy enough, they are awesome. |

I really cant recommend godaddy enough, they are awesome. | My experience with their support has been exactly the opposite! I use to even host with them, but switched because when ever I emailed their support, they took at least 8 hours to respond! |

| Re: Who do you register your domains with? Regarding hosting I heard several opposite stories with Godaddy, I don't use them for that since I manage a few servers for other people and have my little spots on there. I guess it depends once more on what you order with them. Windows or linux, shared, reseller etc... If you're on shred and someone messes the server with loop code, then each is in problems till the admins over there solve it.
Regarding domains, I can only say, for the 7 years now I use them, I only once had a problem with a customer of mine that lost his logins. He couldn't get his details anymore since the addy he used with registration was dead. I contacted my support as reseller with the problem and they found a nice way to solve it in less then 24 hours true me.
The options you have with a domain with them is about everything you can get. I saw other systems with far less for way more expensive.
For me I can only say I'm very satisfied as user and reseller. All of my customers renew their domains each year and I have several going for multi year now.
Only downside for me, as a 56 k user, their system is pretty heavy because all is via https .... that I can't deny. |

| Re: Who do you register your domains with? All of the above:
1&1: Because their they cheapest but the CP sucks! I normally buy domains here and if I want to hold on to them, I transfer them out to GoDaddy before the renewal period. GoDaddy: Awesome control panel! This is where I purchase and renew long term domains Namecheap: Started an account here because I bought a domain from a namecheap user, it was easier just to transfer the domain to another account rather than transfering out to GoDaddy. I've bought a couple of domains here since. Nice control panel, decent prices.
I've used a couple of GoDaddy affiliates (aka Wild Wild West domain affiliates) a few times. Since it used GoDaddy's backend it was all the same, I'd rather go straight to the source though. |

Thats why I always look for a host with a good email turn around time. |

| Re: Who do you register your domains with? I use NameCheap, I never had any experience with GoDaddy and I see no reason to change as NameCheap are doing a fine job of just holding the domain as I use my own NS.
If it ain't broke, why fix it? |

| Re: Who do you register your domains with? Quick question: Does it matter who you register your domain with? I mean if the company is reputable like godaddy, namecheap, 1and1, etc, ultimately it shouldn't matter right, so go with the one that offers the cheapest domain registration? |

| Re: Who do you register your domains with? As you long as you're using a major registar pretty much the only difference is price & included features.
1&1: - Worst support I've ever dealt with. Slow canned responses, every response takes at least 2 days, nothing gets fixed in less than 4 emails!
 - Free whois privacy (private registration)
- Crappy & Hard to navigate control panel.. No bulk updating of name servers
:bangin: - Free email address with each domain (*maybe* looks like a new feature)
- Convulted (purposefully misleading) domain cancellation process
GoDaddy:- Best Control Panel. Fast and user intuitive
- Support is okay, canned responses are a bit annoying though.
- Free email address with each domain
- Free hosting account with each domain but the catch is it's ad supported, so I skip that.
- Easy domain cancellation/deletion process
Worst part of GoDaddy is the upsells at every turn. It gets annoying after awhile Name Cheap:- Easy to use Control Panel
- Transfers between users, super easy.
- Decent Coupon Codes
- Easy cancellation process
Cannot say anything about support, never had occasion to use it. --
Even though 1&1 is the worst on my list, I use them for most impulse buys as their the cheapest. If I don't develop the site, I can just cancel it and only loose $6.
All in all GoDaddy is the best IMHO.
Forgot to add another registrar above: Dreamhost, I had a couple of domains with them when I hosted there. Nice CP, free whois privacy, it's easy to set auto-renew options for each domain individually.

| Re: Who do you register your domains with? Last year the person who set up my forum and registered our name used 1and1 but I found the bills too high, now I dont know if it was just him or if it was the company so when I left and moved away from him I changed name and host and now I am with hostgator and i cant name one complaint or gripe or niggle and I wouldnt change for the world.
Great selection of packages
fair price
great service
no interupted service
No complaints :dancingbanana:

Yes the up-selling is annoying, but you just hit the continue to checkout and your done. |
