I'm guessing we've all been through our share of webhosts. I'm curious what it was that made you finally decide to leave your last host?

My last host of choice was ThePlanet. When I heard that many of the top people at ThePlanet left and started Softlayer, I got concerned. And sure enough, ThePlanet's quality began to suffer. That, coupled with the fact they weren't offering AMD servers (at the time) and that Softlayer had a sweet backend network with VPN sent me on my way.

Do you currently host at Softlayer? Thats where my server is at and I love it for the most part.

Left my last host because they quickly became a joke, and i wasnt going to risk my websites well being over cionstant down time.

I have only made one move. I started out with shared hosting at f5hosting.com, after about a year I began to have problems with their service (oddly enough they were sold a couple weeks later), but once I had a week or so worth of problems I realized it was time to move to something bigger.

I have upgraded 3 times with my current server, but completely happy with their service.

I was paying 119 dollars a month for a Pentium 4 2.0, 1GB of ram and a 80GB IDE harddrive. Now I get the following listed on this page for 129 dollars a month: Details of ServInt VPS Servers

Last host was VPS Colo I think before that some local host, we left the local host because of large number of downtimes then we moved to VPS Colo only to find Russ selling everything within one month and the new ownership dedicatednow kept on taking our site off saying we were overloading their servers. We had a sysadmin who had contacts at Liquidweb so he got us a VPS there and after 1 year on a VPS we moved to a dedicated server on liquidweb. Never really looked back since though.

I started to work with Turkish hosts in 2003 and in a month i decided to move my board to asmallorange.com . When shared hosting wasn't enough i get a dedicated from ahosting.biz . After 7 month i upgraded my board to a dual xeon 3.0 new server and i am pretty happy with them currently.
