Why not allow guest posting? I had it enabled for 2 months. 0 spams.

u just got lucky, if your site was bigger (no offence or knowledge) you would have been covered in spam

Ditto, add to that, people can some really nasty comments when the guest mode is activated.

Other than viewing most areas of the site and being able to vote on the posts on the homepage, I don't allow guests to do much more. If they want to participate more, then they can sign up for a free account.
