I've used this in the past. It seems good and as long as I have a good tut to go with it, I'm okay

Re: The Gimp

It was a big deal among people with disabilities here too Caddy, though other than the studio changing their advertising for the film I don't think the protests have accomplished much.

I've never found Ben Stiller particularly funny anyway, I prefer more intelligent humor.

Re: The Gimp

I think stiller is hilarious and i will see this, thing is the desabled people protesting gave the movie a huge free advertisement with all the news about it. i bet A LOT more people will GO see it now because of all this silly protest. I know people who work with special, disabled kids, and she says this protest and hubbub is ridiculous.

Re: The Gimp

Mind you I haven't seen the movie, and can't comment on the context in which "the r-word" is used, but I certainly agree with intellectually disabled people that it's offensive in just about any context. I don't think their boycott is going to do much good at this point because discrimination against the intellectually disabled is one of the last forms of bigotry that's still considered acceptable by mainstream society.

I'm curious, did you think the civil rights protests against the use of "the n-word" were ridiculous too? Why is the "n-word" verboten but the "r-word" is supposed to be funny?

Re: The Gimp

i think protest against any single word are ridiculous IMO, all it does is sensationalize and make that word that i s"so horrible" huge media attention and you see it in your face 10 times more then you normally would without a ban or boycott or what have you.
