Sleek Blog Header with Lamp

Sleek Blog Header.

Step 1:

Let’s start out by creating a new file. I used a 900×200 pixels canvas set at 72dpi, and I filled my background with #3C4E13 color shade. Now create a new layer then draw a large rectangle with #0D0D0D color shade and 900 x 140 px dimensions.

Step 2:

Under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add a Drop Shadow, Inner Shadow, Inner Glow and Gradient Overlay blending options to the large dark rectangle layer.

Step 3:

In a new layer draw a long light green rectangle with #85A13B color shade and 900 x 35 px dimensions between your large dark rectangle and background.

Step 4:

Under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add a Drop Shadow, Inner Shadow and Gradient Overlay blending options to the light green rectangle layer. Then set the layer's opacity level to 19%.

Step 5:

Insert a lamp design on your header, grab the file here. Now select the Horizontal Type Tool then set the font family to Arial, bold, 36 pt, and smooth and white color shade. In a new text layer type your website name next to the lamp design.

Step 6:

In a new layer draw a black rounded rectangle with 109 x 23 px dimensions on the green space below your header.

Step 7:

Then under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add a Drop Shadow, Inner Shadow and Inner Glow blending options to the black rounded rectangle layer. Then set the layer's blending mode to Lighten.

Step 8:

Select the Horizontal Type Tool then set the font family to Arial, regular, 14 pt, none and #007B17 color shade. In a new text layer type your first navigation link on the rounded rectangle button.

Step 9:

Now add the rest of your navigation links with its own button design.
