Repairing your database tables

Log on to your phpMyAdmin client. Ask your web host if you don't know how to do this.

Find your vBulletin database's name and click on it. You'll then see a list of all the tables in your database.

Look in the column on the far right labeled "Overhead". If the number in it is particularly large (you don't need to worry much about, say, 1 or 2K, but if it's the size of a large file or even worse... megabytes in size it's time to optimize), click on the checkbox to the left of the table name.

In the drop-down menu below your list of tables, select Repair. Clicking on the database name again should show your list of tables without anything in the Overhead column.
